DEI Consultation Service
I know there are many organisations looking for guidance on DEI work, and especially how to connect with and include diverse groups and demographics. My work throughout my career has included a lot of advocacy for diversity, equity and inclusion in both the private and public sectors. I've helped organisations to redraft Equality Policies, and helped to co-design strategic plans to improve inclusion and accessibility. I am also in a position to help signpost and connect New Forest organisations to local networks, organisations and community groups they may be unaware of. I can also run bespoke training and workshops on my areas of DEI expertise, which includes ethnic diversity in the New Forest, as I was commissioned to write a research report on this topic by ArtfulScribe - more information below.

I suggest starting with an initial meeting in all cases so I can get to know your organisation and what your current aims are and how I could best help you meet them. As part of an initial meeting I will signpost you to relevant organisations and resources to help you in your journey.
During consultation I can research and learn more about your organisation and wider context to better advise you. This can take place in person or via literature review by email (or a mixture). I will summarise my advice into a 1-2 page report.
I can run basic DEI training for staff that covers core concepts and resources for further learning. My areas of expertise are anti-racism and LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and I will also cover neurodiversity and disability. Many areas of diversity, equity and inclusion intersect with each other.
A DEI strategy development workshop involves working with key stakeholders/decision-makers to develop a sustainable DEI strategy that grows with and helps to positively shape the future of your organisation. This service includes a literature review to understand your context prior to the workshop.
If you are a smaller organisation interested in DEI training, please get in touch with me. I want to scope out if it's feasible to run a joint session for small organisations and community leaders in the New Forest. Grant and match funding could also help to make such initiatives more accessible to those who need it.

New Forest Ethnic Diversity Research Report
An ArtfulScribe Commissioned EDI report on Ethnic Diversity in the New Forest, what ethnic minorities want to see from Arts and Culture in the New Forest, and an overview of relevant EDI work (successes and challenges) by New Forest organisations.
In October 2024 I was commissioned by ArtfulScribe to write a research report on ethnic diversity in the New Forest and to find out what local ethnic minorities want from their local arts scene. This report is due to be published by the end of April 2025. I aim to share this report as widely as possible, and hope to make it publicly available on my website. If you want me to email it to you upon publication please send an email to amyhardingson@gmail.com and I'll add you to my list.
