Work in the Community

campaigning & consultation
DEI

I've been involved in community work in Totton and the New Forest since being a town councillor from 2019-2023. When I decided not to stand for re-election I knew I wanted to continue working locally on issues I cared about, and to help make cool things happen on my doorstep.

I run Totton Community Rail which is a community rail station adoption group. I'm working to improve the station environment, take over more of the disused station building into community hands, and bring more art and life to this community asset.

I am a co-founder of Boost which is a climate action group in Totton and Eling. We work to signpost and support local individuals and organisations to make greener choices, to spread climate change awareness, and to campaign locally for practical climate change policies in local government and business.

Having lived experience of several different protected characteristics under the equality act led to me educating myself and learning to advocate for others in my communities and other marginalised groups in the spaces I move in. I've worked on DEI projects throughout my working life in the public and private sectors, and I was recently commissioned by ArtfulScribe to write a research report on ethnic minorities in the New Forest, making me a local expert on this particular topic. Please contact me to learn more about what I can offer for DEI consultation, or view my rates and services here.
